Parkview Field hosted its first soccer match on Saturday, April 17. This inaugural event pitted the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame against the Hoosiers of Indiana University. Over 4,200 fans came out to see the exhibition match between the two schools and despite cool temperatures, there was excitement on the field with the outcome determine with penalty kicks after two overtime periods. The Irish pulled out the victory with a 4 goals to 2 advantage in the shoot out after a 2-2 tie in regulation.
